Deir Yassin: a crime that won't be forgetten
09/04/1948

Deir Yasin massacre and other massacres weren’t just individual efforts or reckless accident. these massacres (were organized methods )told about Zionist vision which armed with different types of violence . as all of us know , Zionist target is: Emptying Palestine of its indigenous population , Replacement of the Jews from Palestinians and establishing state Zionism.

Modern day Israel has the same goals and uses same methods. The only thing that may have changed is the advancement in the types of weapons used and the military arsenal used against the Palestinian people. In Jerusalem it uses the Judaizing operation, establishing colonies after illegal confiscation of land. In Gaza , Israel used operation lead cast and Genocidal policy in Gaza by using Banned weapons.Today, at this moment , Gaza is witnessing one massacre after another.

Deir Yasin is a village located near Al Kastal, about 5 km to the west of Jerusalem. Its average height of 780 meters. And 850 meters above sea-level.

The word ( Deir ) is related to a Monastery which is built by a monk accommodated the village in the twelfth century AD . word of ( Yasin) related to Sheikh Yasin, the Imam of the village mosque . The most important characteristic of this village is its archaeological infrastructure which had Middle-aged walls.

Deir Yassin massacre:

Causes :

- The Zionists started the implementation of their plan to build a Jewish state in Palestine. The plan required the killing all people on Palestine.

- The Arab Liberation Army War roads progressing, cutting the main road between Spring Hill and the siege of Jerusalem and 16% of the bulk of the Jews.

-Raising the morale of the Jews after the disappointment of Arab progress on the main roads.

- Scaring people and forcing them to emigrate and flee from the village, so that the Jews can seize it.

The facts of the massacre:

- The massacre was committed by the two Zionist military organizations , Irgun (which was led by Menachem Begin, Prime Minister of Israel later and Stern Lehi (which was headed by Yitzhak Shamir, who became aprime minister after Beijing) The attack was a prior agreement with the Haganah, at around three in the morning.

- Zionist attackers attacked the village with armored car, they were surprised by the villagers' fire which were not taken into account. There were 85 armed villagers, Palestinians killed 4 Zionists and wounded 32.

- The attackers demanded reinforcements from the leadership of the Haganah in Jerusalem, and were able to restore their wounded. They shot the village without distinction between a child, a woman, and man.

- Killings continued for two days, and the Zionist forces committed many war crimes: Torture , rape, Amputations, Slaughter of pregnant women and bet on the type of embryos.

- They threw 53 of the living children behind the wall of the old city, 25 living men were taken in buses to go around Jerusalem as victims.

- The massacre took place under the British occupation authorities who were not pulled out of Palestine yet, so the British occupation participated in the massacre with the Zionists.

Testimonies of the massacre:

-Menachem Begin, the leader of the Deir Yassin massacre says: "Their fire was fierce and deadly, and the Jews were forced to fight the Arabs from street to street and house to house."

-A journalist who witnessed the massacre: "It's something that self-hating monsters have comitted when raping a girl in the presence of her family, and when they finished they began torturing her, and then cut her breasts and threw them into the fire."

-Creech Jones, Chief Delegate of the Red Cross: "300 people were massacred without military justification or provocation of any kind. They were aging men, women, and children."

Results:

- The village was occupied on April 10, 1948.

- The Arab-Jewish media war increased after the massacre of Deir Yassin.

- Palestinian migration to neighboring Arab countries has increased as a result of the fear that overwhelmed the hearts of the Palestinians from the events of the massacre.

- In 1980, the Jews reconstructed the village over the ruins of the original buildings and renamed the streets after the Irgun fighters who carried our the massacre.

Facts and Figures:

On the Palestinian side: Between 254 to 300 martyrs- men, women, and babies.

On the Israeli side: 4 dead and 32 wounded.

Deir Yassin massacre was only the beginning of a series of massacres committed by Zionist gangs, most notably: Tantura massacre near Haifa (200 martyrs), the massacre of Tornadoes near Hebron (300 killed), and the massacre of Dahmash Mosque in the city of Lod (about 100 martyrs).

We say to to steadfast and resistant people of Palestine: this is the price of peace with the Zionists--the price we're meant to pay, we're expected to throw our arms aside, sit in our homes, and wait for those who will kill or elderly and children and rape our women. This is the price of reconciliation with the Zionists, to be guards for them so they can kills us. If the price of armed resistance, which is denounced by a range of Arabs and Palestinians, is a lack of money, medicine, and food, the price of peace is much more detrimental, for peace will only lead to more massacres, destruction, and violations. The message that we'd like to relay to the Palestinian people is that our enemy is a criminal, is ugly, and is a savage murderer. Resistance against Zionists is inevitable and helps us avoid falling into the traps of the alleged peace. It is important to note that the people of Deir Yassin gave a charter to the Zionists and two weeks later, the hands they shook were the same hands that held the knife to the throats of their children, slaughtered their familes, and raped their women.

And if the Zionists have exploited the massacre and its ugliness to displace the people of Palestine, we call today on the Palestinians, home and abroad, to stand up against Zionism and all those who assist them. Today, Deir Yassin calls on the Palestinians to return and revenge those who have stained their hands with the blood of its people
