AnVir Task Manager Pro is a very useful system utility. Although it may seem to be another frontend for ******s Task Manager, it is actually an advanced task manager combined with a startup manager and an antivirus.

The complexity of this application resides in the fact that it provides detailed information about startup items, running applications and processes. Besides providing all that useful informations, the program also provides the appropriate tools to help you manage all the items.

The items found in the startup section (applications which start with ******s) can be started, stopped and edited using the registry editor. Using the context menu, you can also open the directory containing that item, edit its properties or search for related results using 'Google search' (will open a new Internet Explorer ******). An interesting option is that of delaying a startup item: this means that it will be started one minute after ******s has been loaded.

Running applications can be forcefully shut down, brought to front and so on. Here, you have also the option to find an application's process, in order to make sure what it does. Processes can be managed as well from viewing their properties to setting their priority.

Besides these, you can get a quick access to editing ******s configuration files, you get shortcuts to Add/Remove Programs, Registry Editor, System Information and so on. All the data will be logged and saved in DAT format. Information from the program can be copied to clipboard or saved as TXT or HTM files.

Pluses: The program will place four icons in the taskbar that will show your disk usage, memory usage, network traffic and CPU usage. You can create custom list of startup exclusions, blocked processes or processes with modified priority.
